Франция. В мировой прокат вышла французская картина La Rafle («Ограбление»), посвященная событиям Второй мировой мировой войны и Холокосту. В статье также говорится: “…Долгое время высылка и уничтожение французских евреев не являлись предметом общественной дискуссии в стране. Считалось, что вся Франция пострадала в годы войны одинаково, и нет необходимости специально выделять еврейских жертв. До недавнего времени, посетив мемориал двумстам тысячам жертв нацистской оккупации во Франции, открытый в 60-х годах, невозможно было узнать, что большинство жертв — евреи. Лишь несколько лет назад у входа в мемориал была установлена табличка, сообщающая, что более половины жертв были евреями. Для Франции, как для страны с давними секулярными традициями, было нелегко признать, что люди преследовались на основании этнической принадлежности, сексуальной ориентации или политических взглядов, а от оккупации не все слои населения пострадали в равной степени.

Недавно неподалеку от мемориала жертв оккупации был построен музей Холокоста. Там собран крупнейший в Европе архив документов той эпохи. Ru.wikipedia.org: Родился в белорусском городке Лепель в еврейской семье. Его отец — уроженец местечка Гостынич Варшавской губернии, слесарь минского завода «Коммунар» Яков Давыдович (Данилович) Мотыль (1901—1931) — через три года после рождения сына (6 мая 1930 года) был арестован по обвинению в шпионской деятельности и отправлен в лагерь на Соловки, где спустя год погиб. Мать — выпускница Петроградского педагогического института имени А. И. Герцена Берта Антоновна Левина — работала воспитательницей в колонии для малолетних преступников под руководством А. С. Макаренко и впоследствии завучем детского дома для детей репресированных в городе Оса Пермской области. Детские годы Владимир Мотыль провёл с матерью в ссылке на Урале. Дед и бабушка по материнской линии также были сосланы на Дальний Восток, а после возвращения в Белоруссию погибли в гетто в годы немецкой оккупации.
